These large earrings are embroidered with high-quality Japanese and Czech glass beads. Cabochons and bicone beads are made of Swarovski crystal. The back of the earrings is covered with soft suede. The lever-back earrings are gilded with fine gold.

In an Irish tale, a mermaid arrived on the island of Iona where Saint Columban had established an outpost. The mermaid came to implore a monk with whom she was in love to grant her a soul. The monk remained inflexible: she had to leave the sea first, which she refused. Before disappearing definitively in the waves, she melted into tears that turned into pebbles. Even today, the pebbles of Iona Beach are called “mermaid tears”.
