This brooch is inspired by Klimt. His famous Beethoven fresco depicts the famous composer’s 9th symphony. In the panels inspired by the second movement of the symphony, Humanity, symbolized by a kneeling couple, implores the “golden knight” in armor to engage in the struggle for happiness. The knight with frowning eyebrows seems ready to help humanity in this quest for happiness.

It is in the panels of the3rd movement that the golden knight is followed by the representation of the hostile powers to be fought. Three beautiful gorgons topped with snakes underlined with gold are depicted in the foreground. Behind them, sickness, madness and death are embodied by three other terrifying-looking women.

Finally, the fourth movement ends with the Ode to Joy. Obstacles overcome, happiness is attained.

This brooch inspires you to fight your demons to find your happiness:)
