This torc necklace is inspired by the colors and shapes of ancient African jewelry. It is embroidered with high quality Japanese glass beads. The cabochon is made of Swarovski crystal and African turquoise (jasper) frames the central motif. The back of the necklace is covered with soft black suedette, so it’s very confortable to wear.

Candace Majaji was one of the greatest warrior queens of Africa during antiquity. She led the Lovedu ethnic group that was part of the Kingdom of Kush. She died in battle facing the Roman armies and defended the city of Meroe and its inhabitants, spear and shield in her fist, until her last breath.
